The Taxidermist and other creepy stories

Art by: Santipérez

Written by: Santipérez

Santipérez's talent is capable of bringing to life the dead who return from the grave, morbid relationships, dysfunctional families with murders in between, or living dolls with pathological jealousy...

Rendered with exquisite brilliance, these stories combine a style that is both classic and modern, academic and caricatural, cruel and deeply romantic. Firmly rooted in the horror genre, they follow the conventions of the era’s popular series, culminating in twist endings designed to catch the reader by surprise.

The volume El Taxidermista y otras historias macabras compiles all the stories that Santipérez created in the late 1980s and early 1990s for Toutain which were published Creepy and Comix Internacional magazines. Some of them appeared in the US in Heavy Metal magazine.

Key points:

  • A collection of stories that allows us to observe the evil and violence of which human beings are capable of

  • A very dark sense of humour mixed with great irony, with which the author questions human nature

  • A work that will delight any fan of the genre who enjoys the stories that used to appear in magazines in the 1970s and 1980s
