The Days

The Days take place during the week leading up to an imminent global shift pivotal moment that will test the very meaning of society.

In a near future shaped by climate change and human behavior, the environment has drastically altered, making daily life a challenge. Yet, despite these hardships, people continue to adapt with striking normalcy. War, consumerism, and the struggle for power persist, even as society now lives underground. Venturing to the surface has become rare — but for some, it remains a vital need.

John and A. walk their dogs once a day on the surface. During these outings, they encounter others whose words and gestures reflect the complexity of the human condition. Together, the protagonists confront a central question:

how far can humanity’s ability to adapt be stretched? While this adaptability is a gift essential to survival, it may also be humans’ downfall. Meanwhile, the dogs —ever watchful of human behavior— find joy in simpler things: a bit of affection and a ball to chase.
