Metro-Carguero

Art by: Domingo Mandrafina

Written by: Enrique Breccia

Metro Carguero was first published in Spain in June 1984 in the magazine Zona 84, and later in Fierro magazine in Argentina. The work features artwork by Domingo Mandrafina and texts by Enrique Breccia who created it almost as a hobby. Although still unfinished, it has remained a cult classic. It was republished in 2024 by Deux Studio in one volume.

Since time immemorial, humanity has survived sheltered inside the earth. Sunlight is a myth that still lives on among the inhabitants who populate the caves through which the heavy mining metres slide, crossing the thirteen levels where human beings still subsist.

Rengo, accompanied by Cri-Cri and the parrot Vermúdez, decides to cross the centre of the Earth to the surface, on a journey that will involve all kinds of stops and deadly adventures.
