The End of the World
Art by: Daniel Tomás
Written by: Juanra Fernández
1943. Gardel escapes from a war that is not his own, seeking an impossible way home. The young man survives the bombardment of Krasny Bor and manages, with the help of a companion, to get away from the battle. An instinctive flight that places them far from the crossfire, but in front of the inhospitable emptiness of the snowy immensity.
In their flight towards their intended return home, they cross paths with some Red Army militiamen, and this quick, slight mis- fortune leaves the protagonist alone in front of the vast whiteness.
This is not just a war story. It is a tragedy, a story of survival, of escape and, above all, of fear, of great fear.
