The story of Mar i Cel (Sea and Sky) is set in 1629, twenty years after the expulsion of the Moriscos from the Kingdom of Valencia. Don Carlos, the Viceroy of Valencia, and his family are captured by a pirate ship in the Mediterranean Sea. Saïd, the pirate captain, immediately sees them as good booty, but everything turns upside down when he meets Blanca, Don Carlos's daughter, and discovers her sensitivity.
Saïd and Blanca fall in love despite belonging to two different and opposing worlds, and their love story is doomed to end in tragedy. Around the two lovers, a story of mutinies and betrayals unfolds, featuring well-known characters such as the cabin boy Idriss and the pirate Osman.
The story of two eternally opposed religions and of an impossible love between a Christian girl and a Moorish pirate that can only come true beyond the horizon, where the sea and the sky meet.
