The Graphic Novel adapation of A sangre y fuego, by Manuel Chávez Nogales, one of the most prominent voices of the 20th century. An essential work of literature on the Spanish Civil War, considered one of the best books on the suffering of both sides.  The author produced nine stories set against the backdrop of the Spanish Civil War, which he witnessed first-hand. The series is composed of three volumes that recount three of these stories:

Massacre, massacre!  - In the midst of the Civil War, the national air force bombing Madrid is a harrowing daily occurrence. Rage grows in the hearts of the militiamen. The metallic taste of revenge spreads through their throats, as they shout in unison: "Revenge"! Hatred aimed at the former soldiers who are seen as the enemy, as the fifth column that is threatening the Republic.

The exploits of the horsemen - The Marquis’s men set out on a sweep. At the head of the group are his three sons, Father Francisco and the Marquis himself. With bloodshot eyes and hatred in their hearts, their mission is to wipe out any Reds they might find in the villages and farmhouses of the countryside.

The Moroccan Warriors  - Moroccan soldiers known as Franco’s Moors fought on the Franco's side. Men who had come to a foreign land to fight in a war that was not their own. Soldiers hardened by the Rif Wars who were used as a shock force and cannon fodder. Their mere presence struck terror into the hearts of the Republicans. But who were these men and what did they think?

A story of rampant and overwhelming cainism, characters exhibiting the most primal feelings in man. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, a death for a death and a cry of terror echoing throughout the streets of Spain.
