Ana. The Princess of Eboli
Art by: Carolina Corvillo
Written by: Noelia Vega
In 1573, during the reign of Philip II, Ana de Mendoza de la Cerda, wife of one of the monarch’s chief councillor and Prince of Eboli, loses her husband. She then finds herself in charge of his estate in a region teeming with enemies eager to see the House of Pastrana brought down, against a backdrop of political tension caused by the Protestant uprisings in the Netherlands.
Conspirator, villainess, courtesan, the king’s forbidden love… The ‘black legend’ has spread numerous infamous portrayals of the Princess of Éboli, distorting Ana’s true character.
